Try dictation

Do you have trouble turning off your overly formal professional voice (that 'writer switch') and just writing like you speak?

Try this.

Start by deciding what your messages are

Create your document plan. 

  • Decide what you want to say in each section.

  • Pop your headings into a Word document.

Then dictate

On the Word home tab to the left, you'll see the Dictate function.

Turn it on and speak into the computer, expanding on the messages you wrote in your headings.

Your first draft might be done quicker than you expected!
